19 April 2011
Good afternoon everyone! I apologize for the lack of updates over the last week, but I am back and running with my blog. We are experiencing some very cold weather recently and that trend will continue throughout most of the week. Yesterday, Chicago saw 0.6" of snow fall at O'Hare, the most snowfall on April 18 since 0.4" in 1910. Temperatures are more typical of early November than late spring, as highs have struggled to reach 40 the last two days. Today has been a cloudy and rainy day with temperatures around 35 degrees. More showers and even a few thunderstorms are possible across the area throughout the rest of the night. Most thunderstorms should stay south of Chicago, but it's not out of the question. Tomorrow will be a little bit more sunnier, but just as cold with temperatures at around 45. However, a warmup is in the forecast as upper 50s are expected by Easter and Monday could get close to 70. Stay tuned for the latest on this ever changing weather!
