Good evening. 

We are now in the thick of the blizzard and the worst part of the storm is yet to come.  Snowfall totals have yet to really come in.   Midway has reporter 6.2" as of 8pm and through 6pm, O'Hare had 2.8" so that will go up significantly.  Lake Shore Drive is now closed down! The winds have picked up and so has the snow.  It is snowing real heavily and conditions could still get even worse.  Thundersnow has been reported in many areas and more thundersnow could still occur, especially in the city of Chicago.  As more totals come in, I will update the posts with the latest totals.  Please be careful as this is a major blizzard still with over 12 hours of snow yet to fall!  It appears snowfall totals won't be as high as 2 feet (unless the lake effect really adds to it), but it should still come in at the 16-20" range!!! More updates will be given as the storm progresses!
