30 January 2011

Good evening everyone!

Well, we have a very interesting weather approaching us in the next few days!  I will have a complete rundown of the details in a later post.

Tomorrow evening will see the beginning of an impressive storm.  2-4" of snow is expected by Tuesday morning before the main event hits on Tuesday night.  Beginning Tuesday afternoon, a BLIZZARD WATCH goes into effect and continues til Wednesday afternoon.  This will likely be upgraded a BLIZZARD WARNING sometime on Tuesday!  The combination of heavy snow and high winds will cause visibilites to be reduced to almost nothing.  The latest models continue to indicate snow totals of 12-18" from the storm with as much as 20" possible for lakeside counties of Cook, Dupage etc.  The specifics of this storm are yet to be worked out, but it could potentially top the Blizzard of '67 and will be the worst storm since January 1998.

More details later!
