Good morning everyone. Christmas is right around the corner and we have a had a very slow start to the winter season. Temperatures are running almost 12 degrees warmer than last winter and only 2 days this December have been below the average temperature. Last year in December, we saw just 2 days above normal in temperatures. Snow has also been very scarce to start the month, but a minor disturbance yesterday did give Chicago it's biggest snow the season. An "Alberta Clipper" moved into the area at about 3:30am this morning and dumped a quick 1.2" on O'Hare Airport, the largest snowfall of the season. The snow did not last long, as the system has pulled out of the area, but clouds and flurries remain throughout the rest of day as temperatures will top out in the mid 30s.
Things will change tomorrow though as the snow will melt behind sunshine and mid 40 degree temperatures. The Bears game time temperature is expected to be 42 degrees with highs topping out at 46 degrees. Another weather system is targeting the area on Monday-Tuesday, with the potential for some accumulating snow on Tuesday. The track of this system is still to be determined, but that appears to be our next snow producer, although it's not going to be a major storm.
